ALO Society celebrated Word Leprosy Day-2023
On 29 January World Leprosy Day 2023, discussions and standing rallies were held in the district and upazila organizations of Rangpur, Nilphamari, Panchagarh and Khagrachari under the slogan “Act Now End, Leprosy .”
A discussion meeting was held after the standing rally organized by Panchagarh District Leprosy and Disability at Panchagarh Civil Surgeon Office premises at 9 am on Sunday. The discussion meeting was attended by various government and private officials, NGO representatives and people affected by leprosy. Speakers said, earlier leprosy patients were not called. They were kept apart. But leprosy is cured by treatment. All leprosy patients are well treated. With everyone's cooperation, the country will be declared leprosy free by 2030. Honorable Upazila Nirbahi Officer, Sadar, Panchagarh Md. Masudul Haque assured all kinds of cooperation to the leprosy patients from his Upazila will be provided. Later the campaign was carried out in Rajnagard Khalpara area of the upazila and two leprosy suspected were found there.
