ALO Society Holds Two-Day Training Program in Dhaka”

A workshop on the Implementation of the Digital Leprosy Complication Care Project was organized by ALO Society in full collaboration with ‘The Leprosy Mission International Bangladesh’ on April 04 and 05, 2023. The workshop was attended by Community Resource Persons, TLMIB staff, and members of other partner organizations.

The workshop was inaugurated by Md. Kamal Uddin, the Chairman of ALO Society, and Mr. Jiptha Boiragee, the Program Support Coordinator of The Leprosy Mission International Bangladesh. The workshop was attended by 22 participants, among whom 17 were community resource persons

The purpose of this workshop was to provide leprosy complications care services to people suffering from leprosy complications using digital media, especially to those who live far away from the hospital due to geographical conditions and are unable to go to the hospital.

The workshop was conducted by ALO Society’s Project Officer, Mr. Klinton Malakar. On the first day of the workshop, Leprosy Orientation and Leprosy Complications Training were provided by Dr. Benjamin Jewell Rozario, Senior medical officer of The Leprosy Mission International-Bangladesh, during which he gave hands-on training to patients suffering from leprosy complications.

Mr. Kundan Acharya, Physiotherapist of The Leprosy Mission Nepal, provided effective training on the prevention of leprosy disability.

Upon completion of the training, every Community Resource Person was provided with a smart mobile phone for the project. On the second day of the training program, Project Officers of the ALO Society provided training on digital reporting and video calling, during which manual training was given on how to report using ALO Society’s reporting app. On this day, safeguarding was discussed by Program Support Co-Ordinator Mr. Jiptha Boiragee, who emphasized the importance of following this policy.

At the end of the second-day workshop, Mr. Jiptha Boiragee, and Mr. Noyel Tappa of The Leprosy Mission International-Bangladesh distributed a check to each federation. The workshop was attended by Mrs. Masuma Parveen, Manager of The Leprosy Mission International-Bangladesh, Documentation Manager Mr. Alex Frank Raulim, Project Officer Mr. Sujit Moulik, and Md. Musfiq Rahman.
