A Day-Long Workshop on ALO Society Strategy Development in Dhaka

A full-day workshop on ALO Society strategy development took place on November 24, 2023, Friday, at YWCA in Dhaka. This collaborative initiative was organized by The Leprosy Mission International Bangladesh and ALO Society, with support from The Leprosy Mission International England and Wales via AEP project.

. Representatives from 15 districts participated in the workshop, total 33 attendees (22 male, 11 female), all of whom are individuals affected by leprosy representing various federations.

Notable attendees included Klinton Malakar, Project Officer at ALO Society, and Noyel Tappa, Project Officer at TLMI-B. The workshop, facilitated by Mr. Mosharraf Hossain, Founding CEO, and Principal Consultant at Global Inclusion Consulting Ltd, involved participants in various group activities.

During the workshop, representatives from federations articulated a comprehensive set of objectives aimed at addressing challenges faced by individuals affected by leprosy and paving the way for positive change. These objectives encompass ensuring early treatment and case dedication support, establishing unity among leprosy-affected individuals through self-help groups, creating employment opportunities, building connections with government departments, advocating for the rights of deprived individuals, and striving for a leprosy-free Bangladesh through the Zero Leprosy Campaign.
